The Cornerstone Community Innovation Partner, FoodChain, installed their Aquaponic System Thursday, Nov. 10 with the help of students from the College of Agriculture. FoodChain, with the assistance of both students and community members, built the system a week prior at FoodChain.

With the system now installed, students can partner with the organization to help maintain it — giving them hands-on experience with aquaponics. The system will be available to be used as a demonstration for classes and to host training sessions. In addition to partnering with students and faculty and the Economic Development Collaborative, it is also working with The Food Connection.

The 12-month-long partnership is intended to help foster Cornerstone’s vision of innovation and entrepreneurship through building connections between the community and the university.
