The Turner-UK Construction Diversity Accelerator (CDA) Program in collaboration with the Kentucky Procurement Technical Assistance Center (KYPTAC) is back for year two! The University of Kentucky and community partners will have an unprecedented amount of construction projects over the next five years. The CDA is here to prepare businesses to take advantage of these opportunities.

The CDA program, which began with an inaugural cohort in March 2022, is a 10-week program designed to give diverse contractors in construction related businesses, the skills needed to be competitive in the construction industry. The curriculum covers important topics like safety, site logistics, insurance and bonding, contracts, subcontracting, construction drawings and specifications, estimating, scheduling, bid and proposal preparation, construction accounting, certification and more. In addition, each participant is matched with a KYPTAC coach for additional business development. The program culminates in a mock bid project that calls on teams to present their proposals in front of a panel of expert judges. The mock bid is based on a real construction project at University of Kentucky.

Applications are now available through January 27, 2023 here

Classes will meet each week from 6-8pm beginning March 7, 2023 and will take place at the University of Kentucky in the Cornerstone (corner of Winslow and Limestone streets).
