Walmart & University of Kentucky partner for Lunch and Learn event
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The University of Kentucky’s Stuckert Career Center and the Office of Business Engagement partnered with Walmart to host a 'lunch & learn' session aimed at providing UK staff with insights into career opportunities within the company. The event was held at the Gatton Student Center on Tuesday, March 28th.
The collaboration sought to inform UK staff about the diverse career paths available at Walmart, ranging from store management to corporate positions and roles in healthcare. Representatives from Walmart discussed the benefits and organizational culture that make the company an appealing option for students considering their career prospects.
The interactive format of the event allowed attendees to engage directly with professionals from Walmart, facilitating a meaningful exchange of information. Both parties involved in the collaboration expressed optimism about the event's potential to equip UK staff with knowledge to guide students toward fulfilling career paths.
"The university is working hard to fulfill its land grant mission," Kim Kluemper, Director of Business Engagement said. "A lunch and learn provides a relaxed way to learn about a company, their needs and how we might work together that is a win-win."
