UK receives Innovation & Economic Prosperity University designation from APLU

(Nov. 15, 2023) —In recognition of its strong commitment to economic engagement, the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU), one of the nation’s top higher education associations, has designated the University of Kentucky as an Innovation & Economic Prosperity (IEP) University. This designation was formally accepted on behalf of the university by the Associate for Economic Development and Real Estate, George Ward, at the annual meeting of the APLU’s awards ceremony.

This year’s partner is CivicLex, who will have an ongoing presence at The Cornerstone to increase community engagement with students, staff and faculty. This 12-month long partnership is intended to help foster The Cornerstone’s vision of innovation and entrepreneurship through building connection between the community and the university.
